Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Anambra State governorship election, Sen. Andy Uba, has stated sanguinity that secessionist groups in the state won’t break the election.
The governorship hopeful depended his sanguinity on series of consultations by leaders in the state and his pledge to unriddle the profitable and joblessness heads, which he linked as the main causes of the agitations. Uba, who spoke to some pressmen in Lagos, yesterday, criticized the state government for “ failure to involve the secessionist groups in the state and give job for the youths who are getting disillusioned about the current political arrangement in the country.”
According to him, the Anambra situation has proved why the state must join the ruling party at the centre, criticising the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for not holding the capacity to maximise the human and material coffers in the state.
He said “ If the state government is popular,non-state actors would not be decreeing events in Anambra. But what’s passing in Anambra is a clear statement that APGA has lost its applicability. This is so because the government is amenable, the roads are bad and no drinkable water.
Go to the academies and see the pupils’ condition. Despite our people’s partiality for trading, there’s no support from the government. Our people can not continue this way.”
