Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi on Monday denied statements credited to him on social media aiming that he announced Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Anambra as fraught with irregularities.
Gov Dave Umahi made this known through a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Francis Nwaze, and it was also made accessible to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki portrayed the post as’ immature’.
The governor in the statement debunked ever disapproving the result of the poll on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Anambra people. ” Naturally, we wouldn’t have bothered replying to a similar post by the attention-seeking blogger but opted to do so to clear distrust of discerning heads.
“Governor Umahi at no point made such comments about the election and it’s contemptuous to visualize that he’d talk on behalf of the APC’s standard-bearer. “The governor couldn’t have done similar for a party with a full-fledged structure in Anambra, more so when the election hadn’t been completed,” the statement read.
Nwaze in the statement prompted the public to disregard the post as it was false. “We also remind the author that false news is against the state’s law,” the statement read.
