REPORTS: Manchester United told to pay £64million to sign highly-rated striker next year
More success for Manchester United football club under the direction of Ralf Rangnick is something that the club will strive for before the season is over.
United made some additions to their squad over the summer as they prepare to compete with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool for additional trophies this season.
As a result, Manchester United is currently in sixth place on the Premier League table, despite winning their most recent match 1-0 at the Old Trafford against Crystal Palace.
Under the new interim manager, Manchester United is still interested in improving their attacking options, and they have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, according to reports.
The 21-year-old Norway international, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in 2020, has established himself as a key member of the first-team squad since joining the club in the summer of 2018.
During his first season with Borussia Dortmund, the young centre-forward was extremely productive, scoring 41 goals and assisting on 12 other occasions in 41 games across all competitions.
Erling Haaland has also picked up where he left off this season, scoring 15 goals and dishing out four assists in the 12 games he has played so far this season.
Because of his outstanding performances in front of goal, Manchester United is believed to have expressed an interest, and now, according to reports in The Sun, Manchester United may be able to sign him for a lower fee.
According to the reports, the highly-rated Erling Haaland can leave Borussia Dortmund and join a new club for as little as £64 million if certain conditions are met.
And as a result, when the transfer window reopens in the new year, Manchester United will be looking to seize the opportunity to bring the sensational striker to Old Trafford.
